I don\u2019t like to travel. I never have, and I don\u2019t see that ever changing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s not to say I\u2019m indifferent to the beauty of the world. I just don\u2019t need to see it. I\u2019m not a visual person, and while I can appreciate something for its beauty or grandeur, I\u2019m rarely moved by it the way others are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve traveled quite a bit. It was interesting\u2014but I\u2019d still rather stay home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019ve also never had any desire to go to clubs, concerts, or parties. I can do it, but most of the time I endure it rather than enjoy it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What I\u2019ve noticed is this: I offer nothing but acceptance to people who feel the need to go out, explore, and do things. That sentiment is rarely returned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Society treats that drive\u2014the urge to go, to experience, to be out there\u2014as the default. And if you don\u2019t share it, it\u2019s seen as odd. Like something\u2019s missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m not offended by that. And at this point in my life, no one can guilt me into doing things I don\u2019t want to do. I\u2019ve paid those dues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I just find it interesting that even as we question so many defaults\u2014white, male, straight, able-bodied, Christian, right-handed, extroverted\u2014there are also these quiet expectations we often don\u2019t even notice, like the assumption that a \u201cnormal\u201d person wants to go out and see the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
